Rui Bruno Santos

Rui Bruno Santos is a PhD candidate in Communication Sciences at ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon, where his research examines how communication can contribute to the prevention of tax non-compliance. His research focuses on how communication shapes social norms around taxation and on the relationship between tax compliance and citizens’ responses to fiscal policy in digital contexts. Since 2023, he has been developing computational approaches for social media analysis, combining R, Python, and advanced content-analytics techniques. His work has appeared in a number of journals including the Online Information Review, Journal of Media Ethics, and Observatorio.
He holds an MSc in Management and a BA in Marketing and Communication from Universidade Atlântica, Portugal.
